President Tinubu Prioritizing community concerns and durability in infrastructural design and development, Abuja–Kaduna–Kano Road Project in Full Gear
The Federal Government, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR )’s leadership, is once again demonstrating that the era of surface construction is over. This administration is building roads that will stand the test of time, not just constructing them.
Yesterday, I joined the entourage of the Honourable Minister of Works, Sen. (Engr.) David Umahi, on an inspection visit to the ongoing reconstruction of the Abuja–Kaduna–Kano dual carriageway, a 375.9km stretch, one of Nigeria’s most strategic highways.

Key Developments:
• Completion Timeline: The current target for Sections 1 to 3 is 14 months.
• Funding Commitment:
• For Sections 1 & 3 (combined 118km), President Tinubu approved 30% of the ₦252 billion earlier and has now released additional funds to ensure steady progress.
•
• Durability: The road is built with rigid concrete pavement, designed to last at least 50 years, marking a shift from the old asphalt model to modern, high-strength infrastructure.
• Community and Security Integration: In line with President Tinubu’s people-centered development vision, community concerns were captured in the design. The project will feature solar-powered street lighting and CCTV cameras along key points of the corridor to enhance safety, deter criminal activity, and support security agencies.
• Economic Impact: Beyond travel convenience, the project will boost economic activities, improve trade, and open up new investment opportunities along the corridor, creating thousands of direct and indirect jobs.

The Honourable Minister of Works, Sen. Umahi, has again sympathized with road users over the temporary inconveniences caused by the ongoing works, assuring that “the pain will soon be over.”
The Abuja–Kaduna–Kano Road is not just an infrastructure project; it’s a symbol of the Renewed Hope Agenda in action: efficient, accountable, and focused on delivering lasting value to Nigerians.
This 375.9km superstructure will enhance trade, ease travel, strengthen security, and drive economic integration. It will be a proud legacy of an administration that builds for generations, not election cycles.
Renewed Hope is not just a promise; it’s visible, concrete, and enduring
