CAN Niger Chairman Pays a Visit to Dr. Abiodun Essiet

The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Niger State, Most Rev. Bishop Bulus Yahana, has paid a visit to Dr. Abiodun Essiet, PhD, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (North Central), following the just-concluded citizens assembly session in Niger State earlier this week.

During the visit, Bishop Yahana briefed Dr. Essiet on the insecurity community concerns, and their impact on the Christian community. Dr. Essiet expressed sympathy with the Bishop on the burning of the UMCA church in Agwara and reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to peacebuilding, community dialogue, and the protection of lives and property.

Bishop Yahana, in his remarks, appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the creation of the Office of Community Engagement, describing it as a critical platform for grassroots inclusion and conflict prevention. He also thanked the President for the swift intervention that led to the rescue of the Catholic school children, noting that the action restored confidence and hope within communities.

The engagement underscores the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen trust, unity, and responsive governance across the North Central region.
