A working weekend in Benue state: Showcasing the Legacy of Mr. President

Today, I joined the Hon. Minister of Works, His Excellency Engr. David Nweze Umahi, alongside Directors from the Federal Ministry of Works and project contractors, for the second day of inspection of the Enugu–Otukpo–Makurdi dualization road project, following yesterday’s flag-off of the Wurukum Flyover in Makurdi. We drove from Makurdi to Otukpo—the terminal point of the North Central section of this project, which strategically links the North Central and South East regions of Nigeria. Along the route, we made several stops to assess the quality of work delivered, engage with host communities, and capture valuable feedback.

This 250km dual carriageway is not just another road; it is one of the signature legacy projects of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, under the Renewed Hope Infrastructure Agenda that is transforming all six regions of our country.

At every community we stopped, the people came out in their numbers to express joy and appreciation to Mr. President for finally bringing long-awaited development to their doorsteps. In Otukpo, especially, the gratitude was overwhelming. For eight years, despite having one of their own as President of the Senate, they were denied this infrastructural impact. Yet today, under President Tinubu, the people are witnessing real change.

It is clear to all discerning minds that while some opposition elements are busy regrouping to discredit the administration, the people on the ground can already see and feel the Renewed Hope agenda at work and rewriting the story of development across Nigeria
