As the year draws to a close, I am filled with gratitude for what has been a truly engaging and impactful year in every sense under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and guided by the Renewed Hope Agenda, which places people, inclusion, and responsive governance at the centre of national development.
This year we physically visited over 20 district communities (some in hard-to-reach locations) , engaged over 3000 stakeholders directly and indirectly across the six states and the Federal Capital Territory. These engagements took us repeatedly on the road; sometimes at very short notice, driven by the need to listen, to mediate, to build trust among diverse groups and stakeholders, and to respond directly to community concerns. We spent over 200 hours (approximately 8 days) on the road traversing communities, in service to peacebuilding, social cohesion, and inclusive governance. Traversing communities to ensure no voice was left unheard.
We wish to sincerely appreciate the Department of State Services (DSS) for providing adequate security across all our engagements in the North Central States and travels. Your professionalism and commitment ensured that our work was carried out safely and effectively.
We also extend deep gratitude to the Nigerian military for the prompt attention given to community security reports forwarded by our office and for the swift actions taken where necessary. This has translated into visible actions on the fight against insecurity across the region, and your responsiveness continues to reassure communities and strengthen confidence in our collective security architecture.
Our appreciation equally goes to the MDAs who acted on community reports submitted by our office, many of which have translated into visible interventions and tangible results on the ground.
Finally, we want to specially thank the volunteers of the Citizens Assembly of the North Central. Your passion, consistency, and commitment to engaging your communities, submitting timely reports, and standing as first responders at the grassroots level remain invaluable to our work.
Thank you to every community, partner, and stakeholder who made this year impactful. As we move forward, we remain firmly committed to advancing the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda by strengthening trust, promoting peace, amplifying community voices, and deepening community engagement across the North Central.
