
On Day 2 of her visit to Plateau State, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (North Central), Hon. Chief Dr. Abiodun Essiet, intensified peacebuilding efforts through a series of strategic engagements under the Community-Based Peace Structure Initiative.
The Presidential Envoy convened a Town Hall Meeting that brought together 17 delegates representing various Local Government Areas, along with traditional rulers, women and youth leaders, to deliberate on strengthening community-based peace structures and sustaining coexistence across the state.
Dr. Essiet also paid a courtesy visit to Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo, Chairman of the Regional Church Council (RCC) Ropp, in Barkin Ladi, where discussions centered on faith-based leadership in promoting peace, unity, and social development.

In addition, she met with Fulani leaders (Ardos) in Barkin Ladi to foster dialogue and mutual understanding among pastoral and farming communities, reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment to inclusive engagement.
Later in the day, Dr. Essiet held a closed-door meeting with the Irigwe community, the Miyetti Allah group, and representatives of the Youth Council from Bassa LGA. The meeting focused on sustaining peace and implementing the 17-member peace committee established to strengthen dialogue, reconciliation, and coexistence between the two communities.
Dr. Essiet reiterated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to peace and inclusive governance, noting that the Community-Based Peace Structure remains a key instrument for grassroots unity, dialogue, and long-term stability in the North Central regio
